Situated at the foot of the Lickey Hills, the village of Barnt Green is a picturesque village with all the amenities of a large city but condensed into a neat package that is friendly, peaceful and has free parking ! When you visit and stroll through the village, it is easy to see why Barnt Green was named one of the top ten most affluent places to live in Worcestershire by marketing company CACI Ltd.

Just a few miles from the historic market town of Bromsgrove, and less than 15 miles from Birmingham City Centre, Barnt Green is located in some of Worcestershire’s most beautiful countryside. It's streets are overlooked by the very popular Lickey Hills which attract thousands of visitors every year.

The village, in fact, grew around its historic railway station where King George VI and Queen Elizabeth would break long journeys during World War Two. The station is ideally situated on the outskirts of the village so travel between Birmingham and, indeed, the rest of the country is made simple.

Barnt Green’s allure lies in the fact that it has managed to retain its village feel, whilst providing a host of exclusive facilities making the village anything but isolated. This hidden treasure is well worth a visit for its own attractions, and a must-see for anyone who has yet to discover its appeal.

Today, Barnt Green is a thriving village of shops, businesses and services, so much so that you can easily spend a day browsing especially as there are several places to eat and drink and a park to relax in. The Deli and Cafe on the green is one such place owned and run by Sue Clark with a choice of hot and cold snacks, sandwiches and cakes which can be eaten both inside or out on swish cafe tables.

From a fashion point of view, there are many choices to suit all tastes, styles and budgets. One such well established ladies fashion shop is Continental Collections owned and run by Dianne Carr and who this year hosted a successful charity fashion show at Bromsgrove Rugby Club and raised more than £ 1,000 for the NSPCC.

Barnt Green Parish Council

Situated at the foot of the Lickey Hills in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, Barnt Green Sports Club is described by it’s members as the best kept secret in the Midlands.
The clubhouse has full free kitchen facilities in order to cater for it's teams or members who just want to have a picnic on the lawns. We have a full Bar, Lounge and TV room, which is open 7 days a week and available to hire to members for private functions.

Are you interested in helping the youngsters in Alvechurch, Cofton Hackett, Barnt Green, Blackwell, Burcot and Hopwood continue Guiding and Scouting in a safe welcoming and supportive environment.

We plan to replace the burnt-out ruins of the Scout hut and the old Guide hall with a modern multi-purpose hall, a building that will be a solid foundation for future generations of young people and suitable for wider community use. It will be located on the Scout and Guide Field, off Blackwell Road, Barnt Green.

The Parish Council is committed to providing quality facilities and amenities for the people who live within the Barnt Green Parish Bounds, and to promoting the economic and social well-being of the area. This web site details many aspects of the Council’s work.
