The Preparation...
8-00am...The Kingfisher FM crew arrived at the Town Hall. A stage, 10ft backdrop, star cloth , dozens of lights, control centre and huge amount of cabling and equipment are installed and what a transformation.
The Civic Hall converted to a fantastic show theatre, 6 hours of hard work by lots of engineers !
It's early afternoon...The 16 models from the IDC (Inkberrow Design Centre) start arriving and under the guidance of Mrs Brenda Killigrew and Laura start to rehearse for the 3 planned performances.
Our compare for the evening Mr Don Allen, a professional TV and radio presenter from Bristol steps through the show running order. The room continues to be set-up, 16 tables of 10 are postioned, lighting and sound checks are completed. Geoffrey Tristran, the carictature artist together with Veronica Allen and the Caribean Roots All Stars arrive and now the show is just about ready to Go !
The doors opened at 6-00pm and by 7-00pm the room is full to capacity and the show begins... |
The Event...
as you can see from the pictures, everyone enjoyed the evening and the event was a huge success raising in excess of £2000-00 on the night with a further £1000 approx. from ticket sales !
It is hoped that the event receives ongoing support such that it can be held annually...watch this space.
