Kingsley Theatre & the Big K Community Team
Kingsley Theatre is situated within Kingsley Specialist Performing Arts College and has a strong commitment to community arts development in the town.
The Theatre functions as a professional venue, with a regular programme of productions across the year, it also provides a community venue for performance, workshops and arts activities by students of the College & local groups, and is the home of Indigo arts, the College’s community partners.
The Big K Community team also deliver arts activities across the town, both independently and in partnership with other organizations, as well as providing support, advice & resources to performing arts projects.
The theatre and other resources are also available to hire.

Indigo Arts
Indigo arts is a charitable arts organisation, working to make art provision accessible to all across the community. They currently run a number of performing arts workshops for young people, from their Kingsley College base (listed below), as well as undertaking regular performance, both at Kingsley Theatre and other venues & events across the county.
The organization has developed an excellent reputation for high quality provision and performance, and in 2008 took the Redditch Musical ‘Eye of a Needle’, written by members of the team, up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it had an excellent reception.
Indigo were winners of the Redditch Partnership’s Local Heroes Award for Building Stronger Communities in 2007-08.
Workshops:
Musicmaker – 7-11yrs – Mondays 6pm-8pm
Indigo Dance – 12+yrs – Tuesdays 7.30pm – 9pm
Minimusic - 4-6yrs – Wednesdays 5pm – 6.30pm
Upstage Youth Drama Co – 15+yrs – Wednesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Take 2 workshops for young adults with learning disabilities – Wednesdays – 5.30pm – 7pm
Musicmaker – 12–14 yrs – Thursdays – 6pm – 8pm
14+ yrs – Thursdays – 7pm-9pm
